Once upon a time, way back when I was in school, someone once told me that “You can learn to like what you’re good at, but it’s more rewarding to get good at what you like doing”.
And that was pretty much the only thing that I ever took from school. I absolutely hated the place and it hated me.
For the most part, I’ve spent my career getting good at the things I really enjoy doing. I’ve always been into designing things. I really wanted to design cars when I was first planning my career, but in the end all I really wanted to do was design anything as long as it involved using computers. It was the computers + design equation that made me happy.
My other passion was vehicles. Riding, driving, tinkering… whatever. I started out as a biker from 17 and only got my full driving licence almost 13 years later. I gave up the everyday biking when I got sick of wet weather.
Which brings me to where I am now. I drive most of the week for my primary work as a courier, I also still create websites and spend a lot of time using computers for both aspects of my business.
And Now – More Of What I Like Doing
I’m in a lucky position where I don’t need to worry about too many responsibilities in my life and that freedom affords me a chance to roll the dice on opportunities that I see.
So I will soon be announcing a new brand, once I’ve actually decided on the brand name. I know exactly what it will be doing, I’ve just not quite decided how the brand image will look. But it won’t take long, I just need that ‘Eureka‘ moment.
Until then I can’t even sort the website as I need the domain to match the brand. And that’s frustrating, but it will all come together quickly once it’s ready.
